Stink no more!!!

Well, yesterday ended up being a pretty good day. Not only did I get both of my homework assignments done before midnight, but we also had someone finally come and look AND FIX our fridge! The problem began about last week. I got bock home from school and there was a rotting odor coming from the kitchen. I couldn't tell where it was coming from. But since it was in the kitchen (not man territory) and Kayleen couldn't really smell anything, I didn't do anything about it. But the next day it got much much worse, and the smell filled the whole first floor. We looked in the cupboards to try and locate the source of the smell but couldn't find anything. I was starting ti think it was a dead rotting mouse somewhere, but we never found any mouse droppings. Finally, I think it was Kayleen, smelled behind the fridge and could tell it was very strong there. We pulled the fridge out and I smelled the back of the fridge and could tell it was coming from there. So we called maintenance, but unfortunately, the fridge guy was out on Friday and it was a three day weekend, so that meant we had to spend the weekend with our very smelly fridge. In just three days, we went through one of those air fresheners. The ones that are in the spray cans. It like oust, but is was a generic brand.

Well, when the maintenance guy finally did come, he looked inside and couldn't find anything in the fridge (like a mouse caught in the fan blades.) but when he looked at the evaporation tray, there was some strange smelling stuff in it, which was the source the smell. It was made worse because the fridge would blow the smell out into the apartment. He tried to clean it off, but that didn't work too well, so he got a replacement tray for us. Not our apartment does not smell like dead rodents!! We are both very very thrilled!
Here is the foul smelling fridge. You are going to have to tilt your heads because for some reason this is how the picture was uploaded. I like to try and put pictures in my blog, and this is the only thing that made sense to put in this entry.

whenever something goes wrong with our appliances, Jamaal and I cross our fingers that the landlord will replace it with a new one...our fridge wasn't working in december, and we hoped for a brand new one....but the stupid thing started working again. I'm glad you two are no longer the smelly kids in class...

haha. I was kind of hoping for a new fridge too, although the one we have is actually not that old and thankfully the smell was emmitting from the outside rather than the in.
